Morriston RFC - Public Notice

Club policy on dogs being permitted within the curtilage of Morriston RFC.

This notice is intended to bring the existing policy to the attention of those members/visitors who are not aware of its existence.

  • Well behaved dogs on a lead are permitted to areas of hardstanding such as the car park and patio area.
  • Well behaved dogs on a lead are permitted within the clubhouse.
  • Dogs are NOT permitted on any grassed areas, this includes all pitches and surrounding grassed areas.

This policy has been in place for several years and exists to protect the welfare of our players, aged from 5 years up to and including senior players.

We appreciate that responsible dog owners would have ‘poo bags’ with them and would dispose of any used bags in the bins provided around the grounds.

However, when trying to clean up dog faeces from grass areas, there will always be a residue left behind. From an infection risk point of view, any residue is as much a risk of infecting a player as the faeces which has been picked up.

We would ask for cooperation on this matter from all members and ask that members actively inform all visitors of this policy.

If you have any queries about this matter, please bring your concerns to the attention of any committee member, or in writing to the club secretary.

Signed on behalf of Morriston RFC committee.
