On behalf of the Directors, Chairman and Members we would like to make it clear that the actions of Mr Matthews have tarnished the reputation of our " Family Club" which has a high regard for providing a safe and welcoming facility for all.
The Club were informed of the guilty plea by Mr Matthews, directors and the management team immediately met to agree the following actions, which included:-
* Where possible, to provide support for all those effected by the actions of Mr Matthews.
* To commence the process of removing Mr Matthews from any role at the Club.
* To commence the removal of any reference to Mr Matthews including advertising for any of his businesses.
* Agreed to liaise with the WRU representative on the multi-agency panel.
Finally, the club's Safeguarding Officer will be seeking advice and guidance from the WRU to, if needed, stregthen safeguarding at the club.
Our thoughts at this time are with the victim of Mr Matthews actions.
